The Great Grain Debate

Long debated discussion on grains.  The field is more pro grain than it should be. However the debate of whether or not grains should be added is a topic of vicious contention on the popular canine feeding sites. Here is my take

Grains can be a healthy part of a balanced canine diet when fed in moderation. They provide valuable nutrients—like fiber, vitamins, minerals, and easily digestible energy—That easy energy can be quickly used by an active dog and the proteins can then be set aside to use for tissue repair. If you have a less active dog, they would need even less. The HEALTHY grains support healthy digestion, sustained energy levels, and overall wellness. Whole grains in particular can help keep a dog’s gut microbiome balanced and contribute to heart and immune health. While some dogs have specific sensitivities, most dogs digest grains without issue, and including them thoughtfully can round out a nutritious, well-balanced diet. Always consult a nutritionist when deciding how much grain is right for your individual dog. One size does not fit all.  A thorough nutritional analysis should be done.

#TAKETHEDOG

Their world is only as big as you let it be.

Mental stimulation is EQUALLY as important to canine health and longevity.  Brining a (well behaved) dog with you does so much  their mental enrichment.  Not only with they experience new smells, further building their scent library. Their noses can tell them such amazing stories.

Added benefit   If they ever get lost, their is a good chance they will find their own way back. Your doggo's that get out a lot out of a car ride.   Did you know  a15 minute car ride with the windows open is equal to a 1/2hr of running for mental enrichment.  Excellent outing for seniors and those with mobility restraints. can tell a lot of things with their noses.  They have a scent library if exposed enough.

In this space we will post all the #take the dogs we see.  FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR OWN DOGGO DOING FUN THINGS BY SENDING US A PICTURE .. @ precisionpetnutrition@gmail.com
